WordPress Password Change

To change your WordPress admin account password. You will need to log into the Dashboard/Admin Area of WordPress.

Click on Users – (Left-hand menu).

On this screen – you will see a list of users currently on the website. To filter the list to find your admin account – you can use the dropdown options located above the listed users or click on the Administrator option to show the admin user/s.

Once you see the admin user – hover the mouse cursor over the username to reveal the edit/view menu and click on edit.

On this user profile screen, scroll down until you reach the Account Management section. To the right of the words, New Password click the Generate Password button to reveal a system-generated password as seen below.

If you’re happy with the system password – you can click Update Profile button to complete. If you would like to use your own password – you can delete the auto-generated password in the box ad type your own. The system will let you know how secure your new password is before you update the profile.
